Our TeamOur Story

Division Engineering Company – Our Story

In 2005, Anthony Simpson started Division Engineering, bringing techniques from the UK to improve both the pace of projects and the end result. Over ten years later, Division Engineering is still family owned and run, delivering accurate, creative engineering solutions across the South Island.

Today, our genuine passion for steel projects is still present in all we do. Whether you’ve already had plans drawn up, or need help with specifications, Division Engineering can step in at any stage, from planning and design to fabrication and installation. This ability to successfully complete even the most complex of projects comes down to our loyal, enthusiastic team. Investment in our staff through ongoing training and upskilling keeps them up to date with the latest health and safety regulations, engineering techniques and overall industry best practice.

Structural Engineering / Project Management Team

Anthony – Managing Director

After spending 16 years in the UK, gaining skills in structural and architectural engineering, Christchurch became home and Anthony realised there was a demand in New Zealand for contemporary architectural designs and fabrication. Since then, he has confidently grown an engineering company based on his core values of passion, purpose, and pride.

Helen – Operation / Project Manager

Helen joined Division Engineering, in 2014, after spending 25 years working with a successful franchise company in the UK & Europe. Whilst working full time, Helen completed degrees in operations management and business accounting. This has enabled her to bring valuable skills along to help in the growth and development of the business.

Arthur – Contracts Manager / Detailer

Arthur joined Division in 2019 bringing with him more than 20yrs experience being a structural steel detailer and architectural draughtsman.

Working as a Project Coordinator/Manager dealing directly with the clients and consultants on various types and sizes of projects from the US, AU and NZ, ranging from commercial, mining, industrial, residential and architectural engineering.

With his ability to design, coordinate, manage and his attention to detail Arthur is the perfect addition to the Division family.
